Hello and welcome! I have just come back from Stampin Up!’s Onstage event for demonstrators in Rotterdam. and I’m buzzing! What an incredible three-day event! Something we do when we go to these events is swap! I made 50 Pocket Envelope Swaps , took them with me and swapped with lots of other demonstrators. So much fun! It’s a fabulous thing to do – we come home with so many ideas and inspiration. It’s also a great way to make new friends!
Pocket Envelope Swaps. These are great for keeping a photo of your loved one safely in your handbag. I made 50 of them in lots of different papers, although, I forgot to take a photo of all of them together! It’s a fun project, super useful. Additionally it uses up lots of that lovely patterned paper you may have in your stash! I know I do!
If you swapped with me at Onstage and are looking for the instructions or just fancy making one, here they are!
Pocket Envelope Swaps
Instructions
You will need half a sheet of Designer Series paper at 6″ x 12″
Cut to 6″ x 8 3/4″. Keep the off-cut – you will need it.
With the long edge at the top of the trimmer, score at 1 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
Turn and with the short side at the top score at 3/4″ in from both sides.
Cut off the outer rectangles as shown, leaving the middles and then cut a slight angle on each corner of the middle tabs. Corner round the corners on the top and bottom of the piece of paper.
Cut a piece of coordinating card to 4″ x 3 1/4″.
Using your leftover scrap of paper cut a piece to 3 3/4″ x 3″. Layer them together.
Stamp the tiny camera image onto a scrap of card and cut out using the smallest circle from the splendid shapes dies. Add a cute little paperclip to hold your chosen photograph in place.
Then with the last paper scrap die cut another two small stitched circles, or if you prefer, cut them from a scrap of the card.
You can form a closure on the front by adding the circles with a Dimensional Foam Pad. If you use a small length of Bakers twine wrapped around it, it will secure it nicely. There you have it! Such a quick and easy way to create a pocket. perfect for a photo or memory keeping.
All the products I’ve used to make this project are available here from my Stampin Up online shop. It’s more than my hobby. It’s my job. Thank you so much for supporting my small business.
