Hello, and welcome. It’s time for the Inspire Create Challenge #095. This time we have a sketch as our theme. I love a sketch, it’s a great jumping-off point when designing a card. Have you seen the beautiful Simply Elegant Designer Series Papers? They are part of a suite of products but today, I am showcasing the papers because did I say? They are GORGEOUS! These specialty papers are foiled with mixed metallics and have a very luxurious feel to them.
Here is our sketch.
The paper does all the work on this card. I am using a favourite stamp set of mine currently alongside it which is the Create With Friends stamps. It has lots of lovely big words in this great font. It has lots and lots of smaller words too so that you can make phrases.
Here’s How I Made It!
The card base is in Basic Black to match the background of the paper. 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm
Choose a piece of the DSP. I love this one with copper and gold flowers and silver leaves. 14.3cm x 10 cm
Cut a quarter of the DSP off. (approx 3.5 cm) We use the reverse for the right-hand side panel. But we need a little gap in the middle, so, next, trim it to approx 3.2 cm. Adhere both panels to your card base.
Using two of the Layering Circle dies, cut a circle in Basic White and then using the next size up also, cut a black circle frame to fit it. Adhere to the front of your card. I Use Tombow Multipurpose glue.
Using a metallic embossing powder, heat emboss your word onto a scrap of Basic Black card. I use Copper on this card. Cut it out with a die. This one from the Tasteful Labels dies fits perfectly! If you don’t have these Label Dies, you NEED them! There always seems to be a label to fit! Add it to your card with Dimensional foam pads.
Cut out a couple of the flowers from the DSP by hand. Add a little glue and tuck them under the label. Add a Basic White panel inside and you are done!
Hop over to the inspire create challenge #095 here to see what the rest of the awesome Design Team have come up with for this challenge. It runs for 2 weeks and is open to all to join along. It’s simple to play along and great fun! We would love to see what you make.
